As a former Bridge player and Mahjong player, I eventually became frustrated with these fun and intelligent strategy style of games that specifically require four players in order to play them. As you can well imagine, it is very difficult to find four people who all understand the rules of any particular game and then have the combined spare time available to come together and play one. As with countless others, I found myself playing a lot of solitaire on my Smartphone.
Then, after a short visit with my Uncle, who had originally taught me the rules and strategies of Poker when I was 13 years old, I was inspired to try and create an intelligent, trump style card game that could be played by two players. A few weeks later, on a lazy, sunny afternoon on the west coast of Vancouver Island, the original idea for Little Wolf was born.
It didn't take long for my wife and I to become addicted to this new game, and we played Little Wolf continually for well over a year while we fine tuned the rules (argued), and we experimented with the game by playing Little Wolf with three or four players when company was over for a visit.
My wife finally convinced me that I was obligated to share Little Wolf with other card game enthusiasts, so I sat down and created the official deck, together with the official rules, and I shared them with some of my card playing friends and family.
The feedback was so tremendously positive that I felt compelled to share Little Wolf with everyone who is interested in playing a challenging, two player trump style card game.
I sincerely hope that you will enjoy playing Little Wolf as much as we do, and that you will continue to do so for many years to come.
